Family and Sexual Violence Community Education and Prevention

Building understanding and safety within communities through education, awareness, and collaboration with specialist family and sexual violence services
Person leading a group discussion in office.
BRMC works with communities and partner organisations to support prevention of family and sexual violence and improve understanding of safety, rights, and available support.

Education activities are designed to be accessible and culturally responsive, recognising that people from migrant and refugee backgrounds may face additional barriers including language, isolation, and unfamiliarity with local systems.

BRMC delivers this work in collaboration with specialist services including WRISC Family Violence Support, Ballarat CASA, and Berry Street, helping to strengthen community awareness and build safer environments for women and families.

Activities

  • Community education sessions on family and sexual violence, safety, and rights
  • Collaboration with specialist services to strengthen community awareness and prevention
