Multicultural Storytime

Multicultural Storytime offers children under five and their families the opportunity to enjoy stories, songs, and activities in multiple languages, supporting early language development and cultural connection.

Each session celebrates Ballarat's diverse cultures, respects the importance of keeping culture alive, and encourages a love of reading from a young age.

Sessions are delivered in welcoming community venues and currently feature stories, songs, and creative activities in Mandarin, Thok Naath, Hindi, and English. The program creates a sense of belonging and pride, providing a relaxed space where children and families can learn together, share language, and see their cultures reflected.

Activities

  • Story reading in English and other community languages
