Emergency Preparedness and Response

Help for people from diverse cultural backgrounds to understand risks, prepare for emergencies, and access clear information.
Emergency services panel discussion in Australia.

BRMC supports people from diverse cultural backgrounds to understand risks, prepare for emergencies, and access clear, timely information during events such as bushfires, floods, and heatwaves.

This includes community education, multilingual resources, and ongoing engagement with emergency services.

Across the Grampians region, BRMC works closely with emergency management agencies and service providers to help ensure the needs of diverse communities are understood and considered in planning and response. When disasters impact families from multicultural backgrounds, BRMC supports response and early recovery efforts through communication, information-sharing, and liaison between services and community.

BRMC does not provide emergency or crisis response. Our role is to support preparedness, information, and coordination so communities and services are better connected before, during, and after emergency events.
